It started as a dream forged around a Canadian campfire — a vision of freedom, exploration, and building that dream with our own hands. That dream became our Expedition Truck: designed and hand-built in our home garage, with everything we’d need to live off-grid for years at a time. Powered by a rooftop solar array and a massive lithium battery bank, it’s our home, our studio, and our ticket to adventure.

Over 180,000 kilometers later, we’ve journeyed through North, Central, and now South America — crossing deserts, mountains, and jungles — always chasing the remote, the beautiful, and the unexpected.

This isn’t just travel. It’s life in motion. Come along for the ride.

Panel 1

Canada and USA

We’ve explored the western states quite a bit over the years, but the summer of 2019 was really wonderful as we were able to cement the landscape of the different regions into our minds. We were also featured in the DIY Showcase at Overland Expo 2019 in Flagstaff AZ.  In the fall of 2019 we returned to Canada (our home country) and got the chance to drive as far north as you can drive in Canada, all the way to Tuktoyaktuk on the Arctic Ocean!

Panel 2

Mexico

We dipped our toes in Mexico first with the Baja and then after realizing how wonderful it was, we jumped right in by shipping our rig to mainland Mexico where we began our exploration of Mexico that ended up lasting over a year and a half in total! Overland travel in Mexico is a feast for the senses, with vibrant street tacos, fresh ceviche, and rich mole sauces.  Along the way, we’re welcomed into charming little towns with beautifully decorated churches, vibrant markets, and warm, generous people who make every stop unforgettable.

Panel 3

Central America

From mid-2021 to mid-2022, we explored the vibrant heart of Central America, each country offering its own unforgettable moments. In Guatemala, we witnessed the powerful beauty of active volcanoes and were swept up in the colorful and awe-inspiring Semana Santa celebrations. Costa Rica amazed us with its lush wildlife; with the red-eyed tree frogs being our favorites—while island-hopping in Honduras gave us world class snorkeling and Nicaragua the opportunity to peer into the smoky depths of a massive volcanic crater.  We wrapped up this leg of the journey in Panama, where we shipped our camper to Colombia to begin the next chapter.

Panel 4

South America

From mid-2022 to the present, South America welcomed us with open arms, starting in Colombia. The warmth and friendliness of the people made us feel instantly at home. In Peru, we explored breathtaking archaeological sites scattered across the Andes, with the unforgettable Machu Picchu as the crown jewel. Peru continued to dazzle us with herds of alpacas and llamas, and beautifully crafted wool products rich in tradition and bursting with vibrant hues. Bolivia amazed us with its endless salt flats, a surreal landscape that felt like another planet. As we journeyed south, we ventured through the wild, windswept landscapes of Patagonia and finally reached Ushuaia—the end of the world.
